Windows Remote server monitoring and Administration
Windows server maintenances requires a different skill set than that of Linux. BharatPlanet also have considerable expertise in Windows remoter server maintenance.
Standard System Checks
- Verify that virus definitions are up to date.
- Audit system users to ensure adherence to virus policy (this audit requires Norton Anti-Virus Corporate).
- Verify that Windows patches and critical fixes are up-to-date and installed.
- Check event log for errors. Basic fixes to an event log error are handled remotely. Other fixes requiring an onsite technician are brought to your attention with a suggested course of action.
- Check system resources for availability and suggest ways to improve resource management. System resources include:
- Monitor the operating system for unnecessary services or applications, and suggest ways to improve performance.
- Monitor and collect data to trend Memory, CPU and disk utilization. The trends allow proactive suggestions for hardware resource management.
BharatPlanet offers this service for servers running Windows 2000 or newer. We do not provide remote administration and monitoring services for desktops.

SERVICE LEVELS
a. Goal:
BharatPlanet’s goal is to achieve 100% Server uptime for the Client.
b. Remedy:
Subject to Section EXCEPTIONS below, BharatPlanet will make the Server Availability without any outage.
EXCEPTIONS
- a. Circumstances beyond BharatPlanet's reasonable control, including, without limitation, acts of any governmental body, war, insurrection, sabotage, armed conflict, embargo, fire, flood, strike or other labor disturbance, interruption of or delay in transportation, unavailability of or interruption or delay in telecommunications or third party services and virus attacks or hackers
- b. Scheduled maintenance and emergency maintenance and upgrades;
- c. DNS issues outside the direct control of BharatPlanet;
- d. Firewall issues outside the control of BharatPlanet;
- e. Outages elsewhere on the Internet that hinder access to the servers. BharatPlanet is not responsible for browser or DNS caching that may make the server appear inaccessible when others can still access it. BharatPlanet will guarantee only those areas considered under the control of BharatPlanet.
- f. BP won’t allow the Client’s to configure any services in server, If violating this, BP won’t take any responsibility for the damage, Because many of the server providers will would cancelling their services, If we violate their Terms and conditions, See the points below Data center AUP Policy
DISASTER RECOVERY
In case of the exceptions stated above, all steps will be taken immediately to restore
the server which might involve the following
- i) Usage of another temporary server with the same structure whose data will be merged with the original server after it is up and running
- ii) If the server is not readable, then the data backed up will be used to merge with the new server in which case there might be a data loss for the period from the last back up date.
- iii) BharatPlanet expects the disaster recovery not to exceed a day.
- iv) Change of the IP address of the server at the Client end during the disaster
HARDWARE REPLACEMENT
BharatPlanet do not foresee a need for the replacement of the hardware in the server during the maintenance period specified because of obsolescence, however there may be a need in case of a disaster in which the points described under disaster recovery shall apply.
Storage & Backup
Full backup
Full backup is the starting point for all other backups, and contains all the data in the folders and files that are selected to be backed up. Because full backup stores all files and folders, frequent full backups result in faster and simpler restore operations. Remember that when you choose other backup types, restore jobs may take longer.
Differential backup
Differential backup contains all files that have changed since the last FULL backup. The advantage of a differential backup is that it shortens restore time compared to a full backup or an incremental backup. However, if you perform the differential backup too many times, the size of the differential backup might grow to be larger than the baseline full backup.
Incremental backup
Incremental backup stores all files that have changed since the last FULL, DIFFERENTIAL OR INCREMENTAL backup. The advantage of an incremental backup is that it takes the least time to complete. However, during a restore operation, each incremental backup must be processed, which could result in a lengthy restore job.
Backup on Local (INDIA)
You can also take backup the whole data’s including database at our local server in INDIA. We will add a separate hard drive to backup your server.
